Amber at the European Forum for Restorative Justice
Some of us are called to become lawyers or judges when we suffer an experience of injustice as children. Bullying in the playground, the premature death of a loved one, warring or divorcing parents- the list goes on. As law students, the world of duality comes into sharper focus as we are trained to practice in traditional adversarial (oppositional) law systems. There are no shades of grey- just the judgmental lenses we are prescribed which promise to guide us in our careers to, ‘right the wrongs’ and ‘do justice’. In court we ‘win’ cases, or we ‘lose’ them. Yet in my 17 years’ litigation experience I understood that winning cases does not necessarily lead to justice.

Restorative Justice in Divorce Court - RSVP Now!
There is every reason -- with evidence to back it up -- that restorative justice practices can and should be doing the same within family law systems as they've begun to do in traditional criminal justice:
• Humanize
• Give Voice
• Unpack the context
• Serve victims with conscientious attention to needs
• Serve true best interests of children
• Save judicial and legal time, money;
• Increase, instead of decrease, family and invidual emotional/mental health and wellbeing

Restorative Justice Within Family Law Systems
During this two-part interactive presentation, we will examine current Family Law practices and identify how Restorative Justice can decrease potential further harm while increasing the potential for true voice and needs to be heard by both parties in a divorce and/or custody situation. In addition we will examine the impact on children and offer restorative practice suggestions that are child-focused.
This is a session for anyone involved in or interested in improving the success of family law results in truly upholding well-being of children while addressing parent conflict of all levels, and decreasing caseloads and drawn out recurrences that require massive amounts of judicial processing time, court attention and money, for all involved.
Your presenter Molly R. Leach has experienced a six-year family law case and has insights into the key and critical gaps of its typical process, and how RJ professionals, Judges, Court Officials, and all those involved in traditional systems can support a decrease in caseloads, and more importantly an increase in truly supportive agreements that empower parents and most importantly, their children.
In this class and discussion we will provide suggested process solutions and their steps after identifying the critical gaps that cause harm. We will also present on how a Restorative option in Family Law benefits those within the traditional system.
At this time, Restorative Justice on The Rise (2011-Present) is supported by class income and private contributions in order to continue our work. We also always offer scholarships to those in need, and Youth Under 24 always get passes to any class they wish to attend.

Vicarious Trauma
In January 2022 I attended the Institute of Well-being in Law (USA) First Annual weekend conference (online due to Covid19) where I first met Judge Steve Hornsby, JD, CLC and Family Lawyer Cindy Pensoneau, JD, YTT. I was struck by their powerful joint presentation on a subject close to my heart: vicarious trauma/ secondary trauma and other detrimental impacts on the mental health of those practising in the legal profession.
Intro to Conscious Contracts® Training
Join us for this 2-day Training to get introduced to the basics of the Conscious Contracts® model!
Conscious Contracts® is a registered trademark for a process of contract formation. It is consistent with many of the best practices of modern contracts like plain language, design thinking, visuals, but has distinctive elements of its own:
The Touchstone helps create the true meeting of the minds among the parties and makes sure there is alignment of purpose and values.
The Addressing Change & Engaging Disagreement (ACED Clause) allows the parties to design a sustainable culture including how they will communicate, manage change, engage disagreements and maintain a more conscious culture.
Used on every continent, this model helps to build trust and certainty in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) world. Practitioners are often trained in nonviolent communication, restorative justice, collaborative practice, mediation, and other skills that expand their toolkit and capacity to practice in a new paradigm approach. Most participants are lawyers but we have also trained and welcome coaches, consultants, mediators, and entrepreneurs.

Let’s Collaborate’s Lundi Mqina Invites Amber Turner As Guest Speaker For Law Students In South Africa
So many of us dream of making this challenging world a more peaceful place; one where there is more equanimity, love and justice. But few of us take the bold and courageous step of actually taking action towards this humanitarian goal. Lundi, ‘a warrior of light’ as I call him, is a final year law student at the University of Western Cape, Africa. He is one of 4 co-founders of Let’s Collaborate alongside Mihle Mlanjeni, Precious Matamela and Steyn Kroon, all fellow law students, guided by the mother of the Integrative Law Movement, author and lawyer J Kim Wright and Contracts Coach, Jaqueline Horani.

Amber Turner Guest Speaker At Pioneering Approaches To Law Event

Many pursue careers in law from a passion to create a safer, more just world. Paradoxically in this pursuit, many of us end up working in highly stressful environments. Over a long period of time this leads to chronic stress which negatively impacts our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health: anxiety, heart palpitations, insomnia, brain fog, depression…
How then can Lawyers be at their best to serve their clients and attain justice for all? Integrating ‘Mindfulness’ in our daily practice and importantly during client conferences increases the likelihood of a ‘just’ outcome for ourselves and our clients-come register for this event and I’ll share why and how!
Join us for our next digital conversation on Thursday, 3rd February from 9.30-11am to listen to two amazing speakers involved in the therapeutic jurisprudence and integrative law movements. For the meeting link, subscribe via our website or email lawwellnessuk@gmail.com.

How to apply truthfulness in the workplace
Nalanie Harilela Chellaram is an international modern spiritual teacher, a true soul doctor, dedicated to selfless service. Amber was invited as Nalanie’s first Guest Speaker on her fortnightly show, to speak on how to apply Truthfulness in life and in her practice as a Holistic Lawyer. Amber says, “If you come from a place of lack, it is basically about fear and greed. We know all of that leads to us feeling stressed and anxious and out of sync with whom we really are. I have practised the opposite… I have turned it around. Of course, yes, I have to earn a fee but I am not going to live a life, or work from a place, of fear. I think that in any profession, in any place of work that you are operating in, you will come in every day and work- as in think, speak and act- from either a place of love, or a place of fear. If from a place of love, you are not in lack, you are in abundance. If you are in abundance you are also in the faith that whatever you do, and if you are truthful, if you stick to that integrity- that the good you do will stay with you. It is when you are in fear, that you come into this, ‘lack’ mentality, that then you think, ‘no, I can’t possibly settle this case early’, or ‘I need to sell this person something they don’t actually need’, or, ‘I’m going to say this car requires its 4 tyres changing rather than just the oil change’, and so on and so forth, because this can be translated to any service industry”.
Breathing Space
The first time I met Neurolinguistic (NLP) Coach Sara Haboubi, was in late October 2017 on the beach of Lumut, Malaysia, on the fringes of the jungle where we were about to both spend the next 5 days with another 400 people, pushing ourselves way out of our comfort zones!
Sara is one of those humans who you are instantly and naturally drawn to. She has big, intelligent, blue eyes and a friendly smile that make you feel instantly at home with her. We exchanged our backgrounds and some life experiences which had led us to register for the Enlightened Warrior Training Camp- we instantly connected. We each support the other’s life mission and vision to positively transform lives. Sara through her NLP Coaching and online courses, me through my practice and teaching of Holistic Law.
